Veteran's Health Administration

The Veteran's Health Administration is a governmental organization that serves current and former members of the U.S. military branches. The Veteran's Health Administration provides healthcare and health education through clinics and hospitals all around the country, which expands the horizon and opportunities for employment. The V.H.A. offers many great benefits that are especially attractive to younger adults. An interesting aspect of the V.H.A. is that if you have a nursing license from any state, you are eligible to practice nursing in V.A. facilities all over the country. This makes it easy for employees to move around and be flexible with location. They offer scholarships and tuition reimbursements for employees looking to go to the next level. Working with the Veteran's Health Administration is a way to reach out and touch the lives of the men and women who give so much, fighting for our country, everyday. I previously volunteered at the V.H.A. and I enjoyed every minute of it. Volunteering for the V.H.A. opened me up to how I may be treated by supervisors and patients, as well as gave me the opportunity to see what an average day is like for all kinda of V.H.A. employees. The V.H.A. is very well organized and I would love the opportunity to work for such an organization. One downside to working for the Veteran's Health Administration may be that as a federal employee, I may receive less salary than non-governmental employees for the same type of work.
